ROBERT FORD (TheatreSquared, Artistic Director) is an award-winning playwright and novelist, co-founder of TheatreSquared, and founder and director of the Arkansas Playwrights' Workshop. The 2009/10 season saw premieres of his play 'Twas the Night at TheatreSquared and of The Fall of the House at Alabama Shakespeare Festival, in addition to the Italian premiere of My Father's War at Teatro Demoni in Rapallo, Italy, staged readings of My Father's War at English Theatre Berlin and the New York Theatre Workshop, and workshops of his newest play, Look Away, at the Southern Writers' Project and at the Arkansas New Play Festival. Bob's award-winning first novel, The Student Conductor (G.P. Putnam's Sons), was a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers pick and a "Hidden Gem" on NPR's Morning Edition. For TheatreSquared, Bob has directed Drawer Boy and workshops of several new works. Bob teaches theatre at the University of Arkansas and holds an M.Mus. from Yale and MFAs in Acting from Rutgers and in Playwriting/Screenwriting from the Michener Center for Writers, University of Texas at Austin.
